An Era Comes to an End

After a 40 year tenure at Tufts University, Allan Clemow, Director of Admissions, retired earlier this summer. Allan spent countless hours meeting with prospective students, reviewing applications, crunching numbers, leading staff meetings and spearheading engineering outreach and recruitment. During his time in the admissions office, 372,547 high school students applied to Tufts University and Allan’s carefully crafted processes guaranteed no application was lost! Not only was Allan an integral part of the undergraduate admissions team for four decades, Allan was a devoted member of the faculty in the School of Engineering where he has taught New Product Design and influenced countless students embarking on an engineering education.

On May 22nd past and present faculty, administration and students gathered in the Coolidge Room to honor this dedicated Jumbo and celebrate Allan’s contributions to the Tufts community.

Allan Clemow’s legacy was memorialized on the cannon by current members of the undergraduate admissions office.
